Padre's Paragraph

It is good to be back at Holy Trinity after a restful vacation. Thanks be to God for times of refreshing for me and my family. Unfortunately, we were only a few days out when I was notified that the air conditioning copper lines were vandalized (stolen) on our church property. There will always be acts of vandalism and we can only ask the Lord to convict them of their sin so that they will come to repentance and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. With that said, I would like to thank the church council for acting wisely and promptly to remedy the situation which cost thousands of dollars. A special thanks to Gary Warner for taking charge and using his time and energy to replace the chain link fence with large wrought iron panels so as to prevent further vandalism.  Thanks so much.

Moving along, as we enter the month of July it’s obvious that we are worshiping during the season of Pentecost with green being the primary color. Why is that? Because we now focus on what the church is supposed to be about—growth. And we do that by sharing the message of Jesus Christ who was crucified for the forgiveness of sins for all people. And it’s during this season that most of our Gospel readings focus on Jesus’ teachings about our spiritual growth. As we grow spiritually we are able to share our faith more confidently, thereby, pointing people to the Savior with our words and deeds. When that happens God’s Kingdom increases and His church grows. In our July readings we find these themes: mission, loving God and neighbor, listening to Christ, and prayer. These are all important so please be sure to make worship your priority during the hot summer months.

Also, let’s not forget about our upcoming Vacation Bible School—Planet Zoom! (July 20-23) We are looking forward to your participation in helping out any way you can to bring the life-changing message of Jesus Christ to children in our community. Lord bless you all.
